Every now and again a piece of music that youʼve never heard before strikes at your emotional core; like love at first sight. This is what happened when I first heard Waves Know Shores by James Blake. The original recording has Blakeʼs characteristic use of beautiful harmony, unique and experimental sonics, and yearning vocals, but all specifics about the music are transcended to communicate something that feels like magic. So naturally I gravitated towards doing my own version of the track for one of my residency shows at Servant Jazz Quarters, and in the process of rehearsing I recorded this solo piano version to which I later added vocals.
Hypnotic and haunting experimental synthesizer and piano works recorded in Tallinn, Vaskjala, and Vääna-Jõesuu in Estonia.
